Technically you need to have 30 minutes of FSA in your day to maintain a healthy lifestyle. But that my friend, can be hard to achieve. If you are like me I have a mostly sit down job. Follow that by obligations, taking care of my home, activities, social commitments, etc., and 30 minutes of FSA may not happen on a daily basis. Especially since my favorite thing to do is set down and have a beverage and visit with people!
This is one of the reasons we are advocates of BABY STEPS! Unless you are in a medical crisis that requires you to take immediate action, baby steps may be the way to go. Start with a goal that stretches you, but that is "doable." My daughter is letting me borrow her Fit Bit to begin tracking my walking. I do not plan on wearing it long term, because I am sensitive to EMFs, but am using it now to have an idea about how many steps I take in an average day. My initial goal is 5,000 steps. I have been able to achieve that fairly easily. So now I need to up my goal and shoot for 6,000 steps.
The main idea is to MOVE!!!
In the next 3 blogs I will cover suggested activities, calories burned and the effect on the body, and making resolutions (or setting goals).
And remember this can be fun! Think of creative ways to move and begin thinking of ways to move for 30 minutes every day - and sweat! We are all in this together.
We at Simple Living are doing this along with you - so be encouraged.
